The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers a 1 month externship for 4th year vet students. The student will assist vet staff with clinical care and preventative medicine for about 1300 animals (217 species), including 20 giraffe and 30 SSP species. In addition to assisting with clinical work, the student will be asked to review and evaluate our preventative medicine program and escaped animal protocols. As time and caseload allows, the student may be able to help with retrospective research and captive breeding programs.

The North Carolina State University CVM Exotic Animal Medicine Service is offering a 1 year paid internship in their newly reopened clinical service. They are seeking an enthusiastic veterinary graduate who possesses a solid knowledge base in exotic pet medicine and surgery for this position.
