The six-digit hexadecimal value is how the color is identified in HTML code. The three-part series of numbers are the color's red, green and blue (RGB) components (the colors to use to create the Web graphics).

Chris Weller, CSU Webmaster, was consulted in June 2001 for color codes for the official CSU green and gold. He verified the code for green is #006633 or 0-102-51, however for gold his response was:

"The most common gold most people use for text is #999933. The reason it's not in the CSU Graphics Standard Manual is because that is primarily for the use of the logos. There is no standard for the web except that you use one of the official logos from the web administrators page or a custom official logo made made by me. You can use other graphics or colors that you want (although we do like to see the green and gold color scheme in some fashion)."
