Web Redesign Committee report

During our last meeting we reviewed the comments we had received from our "Focus Group" (a group of people selected for their interest in or ability to analyze webpages from various user/designer perspectives) and discussed our own preferences among the samples we had developed to date.

We agreed that one suggestion we received was particularly worthy of consideration, and Sallie offered to put together another sample using a gold bar across the top of the page below the current text links and incorporate all the "button" categories across the bar instead of having buttons for them. This would eliminate having a row of buttons at the top and another row at the bottom of the page, consolidating the navigation areas to two perimeters instead of three.

We also agreed that redoing the flyout menu is going to have to be put off until someone has more time to work on it, as no one has been able to come up with an alternative in the last year.

We like the idea of having a logo instead of the current cover of Insight Magazine to eliminate problems caused by covers that are too "busy" (like the current one.)

Everyone likes the caduceus logo to be placed in the current white column until the flyout menu is activated, and we determined that the size used on index_4 was the most popular size. We will refine the image so that it no longer appears pixellated before we put it online.
