Building
Ms.
Pridgen called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. The presentation scheduled for this meeting will be presented at
a later time.
Members Present: J. Bethel, J. Chandler, M.
Fettman, T. Harmon, S. Hilligoss, J. Lenz, C. Moth, M. Pridgen, J. Riegel, C. Schmer, and L. Tarnoff
Old Business
Bobby Certified
Microbiology
pages have been certified. It was
suggested that we might consider registering in Bobby's Database. The difficulty with being registered would
be recertifying each time we made changes to the pages.
New Business
New Photo for the College's Main Page
The
brochure for the CVMBS Open House in April of 2001 features a number of photographs
that would be suitable for the College Homepage. Ms. Pridgen will check with the College photographers to see if
they can be used.
Argus Institute
Ms.
Lenz showed the Argus Institute website and encouraged everyone to take a look
and provide feedback to the Webmaster.
The Argus Institute would like to be linked to from the College's home
page. Committee members discussed
location but made no decisions.
New Website Design
Discussion
moved to potential design features for the College's website. It has been agreed that it is time to
consider a new design. This change
would work well with the reorganization effort. Committee members talked about considering a new college
logo--perhaps having a graphic design class work on it or see whether
Instructional Technology would provide some support. Discussion also centered on ways to unclutter the home page
without leaving it devoid of information.
Possible design features could be drop down menus or flyouts.
At
the next meeting discussion will begin on the redesign, particularly timelines,
etc. and on how we can transition our pages to reflect the reorganization
process even before the redesign is finished, if necessary.
The
meeting was adjourned at 9:45 a.m. The
next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2001 at 9:00 a.m. in the Adams
Room, Physiology Building.
