Old Business

New Business
Joe Strecker made a presentation regarding services he and Janine Gentile perform as web database administrators. Joe stated that they develop web applications for the College. Examples include the PVM Student application, scholarship application, Vet Start program form, and the veterinary job data base. Dr. Jones proposed that their presence would be valuable on our committee, and that they become members to enable all of us to be aware of how our areas overlap and affect each other.
Joe also mentioned that the .cfm extension of the CVMBS homepage created a situation where, when the home page is called up, it goes to Cold Fusion first and then to the web page. A way to eliminate this would be to have the file extension as index.html. The rotation of pictures could be accomplished with java script, or pictures could be manually rotated each week. It was decided that Jill Lenz would continue to maintain the CVMBS home page.
Dr. Jones told the committee of a new CSU logo which Tom Milligan presented at the Leadership Conference. This new logo should be on line late fall and will probably be required on all departmental web home pages. The logo is in green and says "Knowledge to go Places".
Mary circulated a questionaire to the members of the committee, to be returned to her sometime within the next week or two. She hopes get an idea of where everyone's skill level is, and what ideas we have for the direction of the committee.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 10, 9-10 in W1 Anatomy.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
