Ms. Lenz called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m.

Announcements

Committee members introduced themselves to each other.

The listserv is now on ACNS and the new emailing address is: cvmbswebmasters@colostate.edu

Webmasters were reminded that the deadline for updates for the 2nd level pages, i.e., department/program/unit pages is December 31, 1999. Ms. Lenz offered help to anyone who needs it.

Old Business

Review Committee Information

Webmasters were reminded that committee information is now being posted on the Webmasters website. The original charge (09/17/97) from the Dean is also posted. Ms. Lenz asked if anyone had any questions about our responsibilities.

Bill Cotton Photographs

The information related to Bill Cotton taking photographs within the College was discussed. The College will pay for two photographs for each department/laboratory and/or section as listed on the website at http://www.cvmbs.colostate.edu/webmaster/pictures.html

Cancer Cure Link

As agreed at the last meeting, the cancer cure link is now in a prominent location on the College's homepage.

Additional Template

Another template is available to us at w:\webmaster\templates\newtemplate2.html

New Business

No W: \ Drive

As of 12/20/99 we will no longer have a W: drive by which to create and/or update our websites. We will have to use FTP to publish pages. A demonstration will be provided at the January or February meeting if that will be of help.

Creating Adobe Acrobat.pdf Files

Ms. Lenz asked if anyone has had experience with Adobe Acrobat and creating .pdf files. Suzy Quick and Tom Harmon have used it. Ms. Tarnoff would like to use it to convert the College publication "Insight" as a cost-savings measure. Mr. Kammerzell mentioned that the College was purchasing 45 licenses and the program will be available to us soon. Mr. Harmon will find out when that is and will be the one to install it on our computers.

Front Page Software Demonstration

For the balance of the meeting a demonstration of the Front Page software by Tom Harmon was provided.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 a.m. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 11th at 9:00 a.m.
