WEBMASTERS' COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Tuesday, October 12, 1999

W01 Anatomy Building

Ms. Lenz called the meeting to order at 9:07 a.m.

Members Present: T. Harmon, B. Jones, J. Kammerzell, J. Lenz, L., C. Moth, M. Pridgen, D. Stewart and L. Tarnoff

Presentation to the Executive Council

The new web page design will be presented to the Executive Council on either October 14^th or 21^st. The webmasters will be notified by email when this meeting has taken place.

Template

The template for departments' initial web page is almost completed. Committee members will be emailed when it is ready for use. The "Apply to CSU" button will only have to appear on the initial page of each website.

Other

Mr. Paul Maffey requested that a Cancer Research page be posted. This would support the campaign currently underway related to Colorado State's Animal Cancer Center. Committee members agreed that this would be an appropriate addition.

Committee members were reminded that Bill Cotton has pictures that can be used on websites.

Radiological Health Sciences Page

Committee members viewed the website for the Department of Radiological Health Sciences. Ms. Pridgen was complimented for her work in bringing the page into the college's format.

Listserv

Ms. Lenz will be cleaning up the listserv for Webmasters to make certain we have a current list.

W:\

Mr. Harmon announced that W:\ now accepts capital letters.

Committee Website

Ms. Lenz asked the group if the committee should have a website. The informal response was yes; it would be a good place to post guidelines, new ideas and minutes of meetings. One member commented that it is important for the various committees in the College to have access to the work the others are doing.

WebCT Manager

A number of people are currently using WebCT and have not used tools for managing the information. Ms. Lenz asked whether anyone had used Dreamweaver or Frontpage 2000? There was not a strong response regarding either program due to lack of experience in using them.
