Virtual Canine Anatomy

Virtual Canine Anatomy directs students in the process of dissection. Photographs, descriptions, and animations show students how to proceed throughout the dissection. The detailed dissection descriptions not only assist students during lab, but also allow them to study outside of lab when instructors and cadavers are not available.

A dissection example is shown below. Some pages, such as the one shown below, have a link in the left column called "Dissection Instructions" that will show the student where to cut to follow the dissection. Instructions will appear in the bottom panel. The program uses both Latin and common English muscle terms and you can switch between them by toggling the "Use Common English Names" link in the top left corner.
