Business Certificate

Students in the veterinary medical program are eligible to register for courses required to earn a business certificate.

How do I apply?

You do not need to go through any additional admission application to register for this program. You simply need to declare your interest with the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences by contacting Grace Wilson, grace.wilson@colostate.edu. You can register for required Business Certificate courses as electives while currently taking the regular DVM curriculum. As a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student you are restricted to taking only one course for the business certificate as an elective per semester.

Once I begin, what kind of courses will I be taking?

For this certificate you are required to complete the following courses, totaling 18 credits:

• ACT 205 – Fundamentals of Accounting (3 credits)
• VM 712 – Practice Management and Professional Development (3 credits)
• MGT 340 – Entrepreneurship in the Contemporary World (3 credits)
• Three of the following four courses:  FIN 305, MGT 305, BUS 205 or MKT 305 (3 credits each)
