13th Annual CVMBS Research Day

Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) invites you to attend the 13th Annual CVMBS Research Day on January 28, 2012.

Colorado State University's CVMBS is consistently ranked first nationally in extramural research funding among Colleges of Veterinary Medicine. As a way of showcasing the excellence in student research that contributes to this success, CVMBS has developed this annual symposium. In addition to highlighting cutting edge research and innovative research approaches, the symposium provides an opportunity for local researchers and scientists to connect, enhancing collaborations and communication between basic and clinical researchers alike. All members of the CVMBS community are encouraged to participate in this free event!

We are pleased to announce that the 2011 Research Symposium will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Hilton in Fort Collins, located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Centre Drive and Prospect Road. The symposium will commence at 12:00PM, with a keynote address by Dr. Shane Hentges, the winner of the Pfizer Research Award. Poster and oral presentations in basic and clinical sciences by graduate students, veterinary students, veterinary residents, postdoctoral fellows and interns will follow. We will attempt to honor your selection of an oral presentation, but in the interest of time some participants may be given the option to do a poster presentation instead. There will be an awards ceremony at 5:30PM with CASH PRIZES.

13th Annual Research Day Agenda

Once again, we encourage students from all departments to participate in this event and to hear about the exciting research taking place. As in previous years, outstanding presenters of abstracts will receive awards of excellence at a ceremony following the general presentations. We look forward to seeing you on January 28th at the Hilton in Fort Collins.

If you have questions contact Dr. Dawn Duval at dawn.duval@coloState.edu

Abstracts are due December 1, 2011 and will be limited in length to 2000 characters; both clinical and basic science studies are welcome. Authors should indicate a preference for poster or oral presentation. Due to time and space constraints, we may not be able to accommodate all preferences. Oral presentations will be limited to 12 minutes presentation time with 2-3 minutes for questions. The format for posters will be 36 inches wide x 48 inches tall. This narrow, tall poster format (use portrait formatting in PowerPoint) is necessary to fit the posters in the space available.
