Notes: 1. THIS IS NOT
SECURE! There is no encryption, your login/password are being sent in clear
text over the Internet, AND often your password is displayed in the browser
title, address or status bars.
2. If you are using FTP from off-campus and not
using the VPN client you will have to make configuration changes in Internet
Explorer, from the default settings, for this to work. In Internet
Explorer go to the "Tools" drop-down menu and Select "Internet Options".
Then, from the "Advanced" tab clear the check next to "Use Passive FTP" and in
order to upload files turn on "Enable FTP folder view".
3. Logging in using a browser may fail if your password
contains any of these characters: % @ : \ /
4. In most cases (requires Win2k or better), Network
Services can give you a more secure means of accessing your CVMBS network files
from off-campus using VPN and a Windows login script.
