Procedure For 3rd Party Groups
To Gain Access to CVMBS Computing Resources

1. Sponsor the 3rd party group to obtain an associate eID.  Faculty or staff who wish to "sponsor" a guest should contact the Human Resource officer in their department. Only departmental HR officers can enter visiting scholars and guests in the Associates Database.  Go to the following web page to complete this task:

    https://ovid.colostate.edu/eIdentity/Associates/

2. The 3rd party group must obtain the CSU VPN client and install it on all computers that will be accessing the CVMBS computing resource.  It can be download it from the following web page.

    http://www.acns.colostate.edu/?page=vpn

3. Contact Computing Resources (Tom Harmon 1-7350 or Larry Cobb 1-2437) to create the appropriate Active Directory (AD) Security Group for the 3rd party.  The Security Group name will correspond to the CVMBS group requesting it and the name of the 3rd party it is being assigned to (i.e. DLab-GilesScientific).  The Associate eID will be added as a member to this AD Security Group and the Security Group will be given access to the computing resource.
