The primary audience for this information is
composed of those faculty members who will, beginning in Fall 2007, be using the
new student data system, ARIES, via its web interface, ARIESweb, to perform
essential functions related to your classes.
These functions will include but not be limited to: viewing the university class
schedule (there is no longer a printed schedule), obtaining class rolls for
defined classes (there will be no printed rolls distributed by the university),
granting overrides to your classes (using ARIESweb interface you will be able to
do this directly for classes in which you are the primary instructor), emailing
to all members of your class using a single click, and, eventually, submitting
final semester grades (there will be no bubble sheets for Fall 2007 term and
each instructor of record will be responsible to submit his or her grades via
ARIESweb by the university deadline).
In addition ARIESweb is required to request
RamCT Semester
Teaching Sections.
The document linked to below tells you how to:
1. Get an ARIESweb account
2. View the university class schedule
3. Obtain a class roll for defined classes
4. Grant overrides for classes for which you are the primary instructor
There will be additional faculty training at the outset of Fall 2007 term for
using ARIESweb and its extensive capability. Be watching for CTSS Training
bulletins, announcements from Today@Colostate and directed email from the
college or your department. The process of submitting final semester grades will
be provided to all faculty members through training or a tutorial like the one
attached to this message during the first half of Fall term. Each faculty member
has a departmental staff member (or more than one staff member) who has been
more extensively trained on ARIES (the total student data system behind the
ARIESweb user interface) and ARIESweb – the user-friendlier interface.
Feel free to query of your staff as to who these folks are and how they might
supplement your own capability using ARIESweb.
