| The GP-Core offers researchers advanced technology for quality control measures of nucleic acids, proteins, cell culture and microarray products. Quantification and qualification of sensitive sample material can be accurately obtained with minimal loss in volume utilizing one or both of two distinct platforms. Spectrophotometric analysis of nucleic acids, proteins, cells and dye-incorporated microarray samples can be conducted using 1µl of sample on the NanoDrop 1000 in as little as 10-12 seconds. Advanced microelectrophetic analysis of nucleic acids, proteins and cell culture samples for quantitaion and qualification of highly sensitive material is available utilizing 1µl of sample on the 2100 Bioanalyzer in 20-30 minutes. Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer The Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer system is a fully automated integrated analysis tool for measurement of nucleic acids, proteins, cell culture products and flow fluorescence cytometry. Using a multiplexed platform the 2100 system is capable of providing micro-electrophoresis analysis, quality and quantitation parameters in a single output utilizing as little as 1µl of sample. Electrophoretic assays for nucleic acid sizing, quantitation and quality measurement are available for dsDNA fragments from 25-12,000bp, total RNA samples from 10pg to 5000ng, mRNA samples from 250pg to 500ng, and for proteins from 5 to 200kDa. Assays are specially designed for quality control measurement and quantitation of samples for quantitative RT-PCR, microarray, mass spec and other genomic or proteomic applications in which sample quality is crucial and volume must be preserved for optimal results. Each nucleic acid LabChip is capable of analyzing 11-12 samples (depending on specific assay) utilizing only 1µl of each sample, protein LabChips have a 10 sample capacity and require up to 4µl of each sample. Each assay requires only 25 min from sample prep to data output, significantly cutting down on processing for time-sensitive applications and preserving sample integrity. Cell assays for analysis of fluorescence parameters of cell samples are available for quality control, activity and quantitation studies. The cell assay chips can analyze up to six samples at a time using hydrodynamic focus and dual-color detection. The system can monitor 500-1000 cells in under 250 seconds decreasing detection time while preserving viability in cell activity. NanoDrop 1000 The ND1000 is an automated spectrophotometer capable of measuring size, concentration and quality of nucleic acids, proteins and cells in a highly accurate and reproducible full spectrum reading. The ND1000 requires only 1µl of undiluted sample to acquire accurate quantitation in as little as 10 seconds without the use of capillaries or cuvettes. This system maintains the ability to run purification, quantitation and qualification analysis of samples in a 10-12 second time frame significantly cutting down on typical run time while preserving sample viability and integrity. Without the need for dilutions, cuvettes or capillaries, the potential risk of degradation, contamination and false measurement readings are decreased allowing investigators full confidence in quality control output. In addition to its superior quantitation capabilities, the ND1000 also has specialized applications for analysis of microarray and dye-labeled samples producing accurate measurements of dye-incorporation and nucleic acid integrity. Protein and cell sample activity and quality control are also available using custom, user-defined programs directed by the ND software for a multitude of applications. |
