Overview
The Genomics Proteomics Core is an integrated research facility providing advanced technical service, state of the art technology and resources for molecular detection, microarray, proteomics, and gene expression applications as well as bioinformatics and statistical analysis support.
Current post-genomic resources include spotted DNA microarrays of whole mouse genome, Burkholderia species, and F. tularensis SCHU4 as well as standardized support of any commercially or otherwise available spotted array project. In addition to the spotted array program, we offer a full line of Affymetrix® gene chips for expression and DNA analysis, including SNP genotyping, sequence analysis, quantitation, regulation and toxicogenomics.
Custom spotted and protein based microarray printing and directed sequence arrays are offered through the core’s custom array programs to investigators who wish to focus on specific regions of interest.
Molecular detection for absolute quantitation and expression analysis as well as resources and equipment for proteome and protein identification via mass spectrometry and biacore technology are also available.
A variety of options for bioinformatics and analysis support are made available to investigators through the GP-Core and Colorado State University. Basic and advanced data analysis packages and software access are offered by the core for interested researchers. Advanced, full service bioinformatics support from experimental design through data mining is provided through a partnership with the Center for Bioinformatics at Colorado State University.
In addition to the above mentioned resources and support, the GP-Core also offers special pricing for investigators on a number of routinely outsourced services. Due to the extensive research network of Colorado State University and the RMRCE, the GP-Core has been able to establish volume discount programs for molecular biology and protein services from area vendors. Included in these services are DNA synthesis projects from Sigma Genosys and Fisher Scinetific, as well as Custom Peptide and Antibody orders through Global Peptide.
