Interests

I oversee the avian diagnostics section at the Colorado State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, focusing on avian disease, diagnostic testing and disease surveillance. I am the Coordinator of the Colorado Avian Disease Surveillance Program, the Colorado Avian Influenza Surveillance and Education Task Force and the Colorado Poultry Health Board. I work with backyard flocks, commercial poultry operations and many state agencies, including the Colorado Department of Agriculture, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Colorado Division of Wildlife, on avian disease issues in Colorado.
