Anita Amin
Anita G. Amin... a molecular biologist by training, learning to fit into a hard core biochemistry lab, she joined the group in 2004. Her research is mainly focused on deciphering how the emb genes are regulated and also to identify if one or all of them are responsible for the Ethambutol resistance. She is also involved in in vitro screening, in mammalian cell lines, of novel compounds to facilitate the evaluation of antituberculous drugs.

Shiva K. Angala... a graduate student from India, who is the favorite lab scapegoat, working hard to learn the complex cell wall biosynthesis of Mycobacterium. His aim is to develop and standardize an enzyme assay for the screening of novel compounds for antituberculous drug development. He is also actively working on developing robust cell free arabinosyl transferase assay using linkage specific synthetic acceptors.

Jian Zhang in the lab

Jian Zhang... from Shanghai, China, is primarily focused on carbohydrate biosynthesis in Mycobacterium, using chemical probes to investigate biological function of the enzyme in AG or LAM biosynthesis.

Wenli Zhang... Biochemist, visiting scholar from China, mainly working on the double deletion of the emb genes, which are perhaps responsible for the synthesis of the entire arabinan in Mycobacterium.

Libin Shi in the lab

Libin Shi... Post doctoral fellow from Dalian, China. Molecular biologist cum a fine biochemist. Her research is mainly focused on the structure to function aspect of the infamous embC gene. Comes up with new insight all the time.

Undergraduates
Kristin and Andrew: Lab will be non functional without them. Working on scientific projects as well, definition of M. avium lipoglycans and enzyme purification.

Visiting scientist
Yawen Lee: Mass spectra analysis of macromolecules wizard, comes from Khoo's laboratory in Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan.
