Head for the Hills...(cont)

We are very pleased to announce that several additional facilities will soon be available for BSL2-level infectious disease research at the Foothills Campus. (1) Plans are being finalized to renovate the CETT building and convert it into 6 labs plus administrative office space to support MIP infectious disease research endeavors. A pdf containing a rough outline of the changes can be accessed here. (add link) Renovations will be done in several stages, the first of which should be completed by later this year. (2) Two additional 'stick built' ~2,500 sq ft laboratory buildings will be constructed on the site near the AIDL and BHRB. The completion of these buildings is also anticipated by the end of 2005. These projects were made possible in part by a generous contribution of ~$3 million by the OVPRIT and will help provide badly needed BSL-2 space to support MIP's rapidly expanding ID research programs.
