form and e-mail only one copy of your abstract
as a PC (not a Mac)Word document attachment . The e-mail attachment
must be received on or before the deadline by Dr. Robert P. Ellis <robert.ellis@colostate.edu>,
CRWAD Executive Director.
Please compare your abstract format with the checklist
(below) to be sure that all the pertinent points have been followed properly.
Your abstract will not be accepted until you have completed the
following 4 steps:
Notice: The on-line form is password protected. Upon
receiving your emailed abstract we will email you the on-line form password.
Once you have emailed your abstract, please allow 10 business days for us to process the abstract and email to you the “received abstract” acknowledgement and password.
- Step 1) E-mail one copy of the abstract as a PC
(not a Mac) Word attachment to <robert.ellis@colostate.edu>
as a PC (not a Mac) Word document attachment to Dr. Ellis. E-mail must include Step 3 and Step 4 (from below).
- Step 2) Submit the on-line
form for the Abstract
Title, a short Abstract Title, Abstract Contact information and the
Abstract Authors. We will need
the on-line form information in order to complete the author index
for the Proceedings as well as the short title for the Program. Failure
to submit the on-line form will omit your author information from
the index of the Proceedings and your abstract title from the
Program.
- Step 3) You have included in the
body of your e-mail your first and second choices of Section
and whether oral or poster from the list below to indicate in which
section you wish to present:

Check to be sure you have completed the following Checklist
Requirements for your abstract format:
CHECKLIST REQUIREMENTS
* Follow these instructions to complete your abstract.
Submit the on-line form after you have emailed your abstract.
- Abstract is formatted with single spacing
as a Word document.
- Abstract is 5 ¼" (13.5 cm) wide and 4 ½"
(11.5 cm) high (margins) on an 8.5" x 11" page. Do
not put a border around the text area. Do not type abstract in a "text
box".
- The title should be followed first by the
authors, and then author affiliations.
- Designate with asterisk (use
only an asterisk) the person who is presenting at the meeting.
- Your
abstract should be informative, containing: a) a short statement
of the study's specific objective, b) a brief statement of methods,
c) a summary of the results, and d) a statement of the conclusions.
- Abstract is font style Times New Roman, font size 10 or larger. The
abstract will be reduced for the "Proceedings".
Font sizes smaller than 10 become unreadable.
- The title is not underlined,
bold, italic, nor entirely in upper case.
- Italicize only scientific
words. Do
not italicize the entire title or author names.
- Below is an example of a properly formatted title..
- E-mail only one copy of
your abstract as a Word document (not WordPerfect) PC computer attachment
(converted from a Mac computer document if necessary) to: <robert.ellis@colostate.edu>.
Do not fax or send a hard copy of your abstract. Please
make sure the Word document opens on a PC computer before you
e-mail it as an attachment.
- If a corrected abstract attachment
must be e-mailed at a later time, note in the e-mail that it is
a correction. Also
note what the correction is.
- Authors will be notified of the
section, day, and time of their presentations by reading the Annual
Meeting Program which will be published on our web site
by the end of October. Printed
programs will be included in the Proceedings and available
at the meeting.
- Oral presentations are 15 minutes in
length, including discussion/questions.
- All oral presentations
will be PowerPoint presentations.
Each section leader will be responsible for loading the PowerPoint
files on the computer, and setting up the computer/LCD for the
section. Authors
will be contacted by section leaders. PowerPoint presentations
must be received by the section leader prior to the conference.
Quality presentations and schedule must be maintained. If
a presentation fails or is not completed in the allotted amount
of time the presentation will not be allowed to continue.
- Poster boards will
be provided for the Poster Sessions. The boards will be approximately
4'H by 8'W. CRWAD does not specify a poster presentation
format. Each poster presentation may use one full side of the
4'H by 8'W board. Tacks are not provided.
There will be two poster sessions. Please follow the above
abstract checklist for your poster abstract format.
Notice:
Student presenters must be with their competition
entry posters during the poster sessions for possible judges' interviews.
Presenters must wear their name badge during their presentation.
Student presenters must be registered for the CRWAD meeting.
No meeting registration will eliminate your abstract from competition.
The Graduate Student Competition
Awards will be presented during the Tuesday Business Meeting. All
students entered in the competition are invited to attend the Business
Meeting.
