The Conference of Research Workers in Animal Diseases (CRWAD) was established in 1920. CRWAD is a non-profit organization and has been so since its origin. The sole purpose of CRWAD is to discuss and disseminate the most current research advances in animal diseases. The annual meeting is held each December where research scientists from around the world present their recent research in oral or poster presentation formats. The meeting averages 550 in attendance, and 325 presentations.
Graduate students and industry and academic professionals present and discuss the most recent advances on subjects of interest to the CRWAD and of importance to the global livestock and companion animal industries. The oral and poster abstracts of new and unpublished data presented at the meeting sessions are published each year in the CRWAD Proceedings. The CRWAD meeting has 10 sections for research reports: Bacterial Pathogenesis, Biosafety and Biosecurity, Companion Animal Epidemiology, Ecology and Management of Foodborne Agents, Epidemiology and Animal Health Economics, Immunology, Pathobiology of Enteric and Foodborne Pathogens, Respiratory Diseases, Vector–Borne and Parasitic Diseases, and Viral Pathogenesis. The 2013 CRWAD Meeting will be held December 8 – 10, at the Chicago Marriott, Downtown Magnificent Mile, Chicago, Illinois. The main CRWAD meeting will begin with the Researchers Reception, Sunday evening. The first poster session will coincide with the Researchers Reception. Presentations and the Business Meeting will conclude by 1 pm Tuesday afternoon, December 10. Several symposiums and satellite meetings are held prior to and in conjunction with the CRWAD Meeting. Exhibits – When and Where
The 2013 CRWAD Meeting, Symposiums, and Satellite Meetings will be held December 8 - 10, at the Chicago Marriott, Downtown Magnificent Mile, Chicago, Illinois. Table Top Exhibits will begin Sunday morning, 7:45 AM, with set-up at 7:15 AM, Dec 8; exhibits will continue through Monday afternoon. Take down will be at 5:00 PM, Monday, Dec 9.

Who Should Exhibit at CRWAD Meeting:
Companies who provide or produce “tools” used in animal disease and biomedical research or publish related books should exhibit.
Exhibitor fee includes registration for two people plus in–hotel delivery of materials to 5th Floor CRWAD Office Storage.
$1200; or $1275 if a power strip is needed.

Table Top Exhibit Equipment
Two tables maximum: May use one 6 foot x 30 inch draped table; or, two 6 foot x 30 inch draped tables; or, one 6 foot x 30 inch draped table and one 6 foot x 30 inch draped table with a counter–top height; and two chairs. Exhibitor will be responsible for bringing an exhibit identification sign to be attached to the front of one of the draped tables or to be set on the back of one of the tables.
Guidelines for Exhibit
Hotel Fire Code prohibits pop up exhibits in the hotel foyer. There shall be no free standing exhibits and no exhibits set up beside a table. The entire exhibit must be on the table(s) top.
Application for Table Top Exhibit Space and Table(s)
The application for table top exhibit space and table(s) is available here . The full amount for table top exhibit space must accompany the application. The application must be received prior to the meeting, by no later than October 22, 2013.
Please pre-register your exhibit’s company personnel on the exhibitor’s application form. The registration fees for two company personnel are waived. The two exhibitor badges will be hand delivered to you upon your arrival to your assigned space during your set up. Badges must be worn at all times. Please contact Dr. Robert Ellis upon your arrival at the hotel. The CRWAD registration desk will be open on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, and Monday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm for a communication center (located on 5th Floor). Additional exhibitor badges are available upon request from Dr. Ellis. The two registered exhibitors are invited to attend the Sunday evening Researchers Reception and Poster Session I.
All housing will be handled by Chicago Marriott, Downtown Magnificent Mile, Chicago, Illinois. To make reservations, go to the custom web site found at
http://www.cvmbs.colostate.edu/mip/crwad/. Room reservations must be made at this web site in order to receive the CRWAD special room rate.
Installation and Take Down for December 8–9 Exhibit
The installation period is Sunday, December 8, 7:15 AM; exhibits may open at 7:45 AM. All costs incurred by the exhibitor are at the expense of the exhibitor.
Table top exhibit space is available for set up at 7:15 AM, Sunday morning, December 8, 2013, in a pre-determined space assigned by CRWAD. If alternate set-up times are needed, please contact Dr. Ellis in advance of the meeting. All costs incurred by the exhibitor are at the expense of the exhibitor.
Take down is Monday, 5:00 PM: Exhibitors will not be permitted to take down their exhibit or do any packing until 5:00 PM, Monday (exhibit closing time), December 9, 2013. If needed, please request a change in exhibit closing time by contacting Dr. Ellis. The handling, placing, or setting of merchandise that is to be displayed does not require union labor and may be done by the exhibitor.
Shipping and Handling
FedEx Office is providing Package Handling Services at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Hotel. These services include managing inbound and outbound packages for exhibitors.
Inbound Event Packages: Packages delivered to the Hotel for event guests will be received by FedEx Office at the Hotel’s shipping/receiving dock. Exhibitors will, have their packages delivered by FedEx Office to their Meeting Room at the date and time they request. This information will be included in the shipping form provided by CRWAD with the exhibitor’s confirmation information.
Complete shipping address and instructions will be provided with the confirmation. Advance shipments of exhibit material must be made to the Marriott Hotel as indicated in the confirmation information. All shipping costs to and from the Marriott Hotel are borne by the exhibitor. The cost of delivering materials from the Hotel loading dock to the CRWAD Office Storage is included in the table top exhibit fee.
All handout materials are expected to be of a professional nature. CRWAD reserves the right to disallow any material that they believe to be inappropriate. (See exhibit terms and conditions D#2).
Exhibitors will be given two badges for exhibit personnel. All exhibit personnel will be required to wear a CRWAD exhibitor badge at all times. No persons shall gain entrance without the proper badge. It will be the responsibility of each company to provide an accurate listing of two representatives to the CRWAD office by October 22, 2013. Company personnel should be pre-registered via the table top exhibitor application and table order form. Personnel names can be changed once you arrive at the hotel with a request to Dr. Ellis.
Exhibitors agree to protect, save, and hold the Conference of Research Workers in Animal Diseases, the host hotel, and all agents and employees thereof (hereinafter collectively called Indemnities) forever harmless for any damages or charges imposed for violations of any law or ordinance, whether occasioned by the negligence of the exhibitors or those holding under the exhibitor, and save and hold harmless the Indemnities against and from any and all losses, costs, and damages from or out of or by reason of said exhibitor’s occupancy and use of the exhibition premises, the hotel, or any part thereof.

It is important that the industry representatives are aware of the terms and conditions, as well as all other general information, which affect the operation of the exhibits.
