Torsten Eckstein was highlighted in the October 10 issue of the Fort Collins Coloradoan in the article, "Professor launches diagnostic lab to help battle costly cattle diesease". Dr. Eckstein founded Eckstein Diagnos-tics in January 2008 with the goal of providing new forms of diagnostic tests for disease.
Congratulations to Diane Ordway for receiving the National Institutes of Health New Innovator Award for her recent discoveries in tuberculosis research.

Congratulations to Christopher Lehmann, junior Microbiology major, for receiving the ASM Undergraduate Research Fellowhip for his research on how mosquito-transmitted viruses invade and emerge from cells within the mosquito’s body, then travel through the mosquito and ultimately flow through saliva into a host through a mosquito bite.
