Torsten EcksteinTorsten Eckstein was highlighted in the October 10 issue of the Fort Collins Coloradoan in the article, "Professor launches diagnostic lab to help battle costly cattle diesease". Dr. Eckstein founded Eckstein Diagnos-tics in January 2008 with the goal of providing new forms of diagnostic tests for disease.

Diane OrdwayCongratulations to Diane Ordway for receiving the National Institutes of Health New Innovator Award for her recent discoveries in tuberculosis research.

Chris LehmannCongratulations to Christopher Lehmann, junior Microbiology major, for receiving the ASM Undergraduate Research Fellowhip for his research on how mosquito-transmitted viruses invade and emerge from cells within the mosquito’s body, then travel through the mosquito and ultimately flow through saliva into a host through a mosquito bite.

The Fall meeting of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the American Society for Microbiology will be held on Saturday, November 21st at the UCD Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora.

The annual meeting of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) will be December 5-9 in Monterey, California.
