Computer supported by CVMBS CRG (Computing Resources Group) at 297-HELP(4357). CVMBS Computer Support Policy with details available at http://www.cvmbs.colostate.edu/netserv/CVMBS_Comp_Support_Policy-FY06-0.doc Included in the policy are details on specialized software in Teaching Computer Labs. "Additional software designated by instructors will be installed, if (a) CRG has 4 weeks to install/test it before it is needed for teaching (b) The software can run as a normal (not-privileged) user and presents no network security issues."
* Network Drives can be accessed via the "Login-Logout" desktop icon. Always remember to log out using the same desktop icon. This unmounts your private drives, otherwise your personal files are available for others to see.
** S drive not available? To mount just the public drives (S,X), go to Start > Log Off and the computer will refresh with the public drives only.
***Memory Stick issues? If you can't read your memory stick on the podium computers, in most cases this is because the user used proprietary software (included with their memory stick) to protect (encrypt or read-protect) the data. They will need to undo this protection - CRG is unable to accommodate all the varieties of software and permissions/privileges required to unlock memory sticks that have been protected in this way.
****Picture blurry? For the computer only, press the "Comp2/YcbCr" button for a clear picture. All other sources use the "S-Video" button. If used with the "S-Video" button, the picture will be blurry.
