Lecture Hall A/V Assistants

A PVM student is hired for one school year (August-May) at the rate of $50/month to assist PVM faculty/presenters with the presentation equipment in their respective lecture hall during regular class hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Become familiar with all aspects of operating multimedia equipment. Train with Jill Lenz from Instructional Technology.
  • Arrive a few minutes early to all scheduled PVM classes to anticipate any help faculty needs in setting up presentation equipment
  • Voluntarily step forward during class and assist whenever faculty appears to be having trouble with the presentation equipment
  • Act as first line of contact/liaison when presentation equipment fails. Report issues to Instructional Technology, Jill Lenz, 491-6585
  • Verify all presentation equipment is turned off at the end of PVM classes for the day
  • Familiarize self with OIS (Office of Instructional Services) contacts, the department office staff, security contacts, etc.
  • (New April 2006) Change printer toner in respective student lab by request. Toner available from the respective department office.
