Lecture Hall A/V Assistants

Overview

One 1st year and one 2nd year PVM (Professional Veterinary Medicine) students are hired by the Dean's Office for the school year (August-May) at the rate of approximately $50/month to assist PVM faculty and presenters with the presentation equipment in their respective lecture hall during regular PVM class hours.

The primary responsibility is “user assistance”, not to be a technical A/V system expert or repair person. That level of expertise comes from CSU Classroom Support.

Responsibilities:

  • Become familiar with operating the room’s presentation equipment
  • Arrive a few minutes early to your PVM class to anticipate presenter’s needs
  • Voluntarily step forward during class to assist presenters as needed
  • Act as the “eyes and ears” to report any technical difficulties you can’t resolve to CSU Classroom Support
  • Verify all presentation equipment is turned off at the end of PVM classes for the day
  • Familiarize self with CSU Classroom Support contacts, the Deans Office staff, the building office staff, security contacts, etc.
