This month, the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences is launching its social media communications program with accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. We invite you to join the conversation by reading news from the College or contributing postings to let us know what you’re doing.
National statistics support the growing use of social media sites as a way to stay connected. There are more than 3,100 supporters for the Facebook page “Microbiology Sciences,” for example, while the Veterinary Medicine Field of Study has 3,662 supports. Facebook reports 400 million users worldwide, while LinkedIn reports 60 million users and Twitter is currently at 75 million. Growth in social media shows no sign of slowing down.
The College’s social media pages are used to provide information on upcoming events, continuing education, awards and recognitions, speaking engagements, and professional meeting attendance. You can send us your research recognition or awards, alumni news, major academic deadlines, publications, program or course benchmarks, and other items of interest to College faculty, staff, students, alumni, friends, and those interested in news from the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Our social media sites are places for you to ask questions, and respond to comments and items being posted, as well as offer ideas and input to the College.
We invite you to be a part of the College’s social media network. You can submit your posting to cvmbs-socialmedia@colostate.edu or vth-socialmedia@colostate.edu. You also can connect with the College as supporters or followers and add your voice to the conversation at CVMBS Facebook, CVMBS Twitter and the CVMBS LinkedIn group. Connect with the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at VTH Facebook and VTH Twitter.
