County Commissioner Named CSU Director of Economic Development

Kathay RennelsKathay Rennels, three-term Larimer County Commissioner and longtime public workforce development leader in Colorado, has been named Director of Economic Development at Colorado State University.

Rennels will work in the Office of Outreach and Strategic Partnerships with CSU Extension, and Continuing Education. Lou Swanson, vice provost for Outreach and Strategic Partnerships, said CSU’s economic development has been restructured to more effectively focus on working with state economic development agencies, county commissioners and mayors, businesses, and regional groups. Rennels will advance collaborative and productive networks across the state – not just along the Front Range – to create economic development opportunities.

Saturday, Jan. 16, is CSU Day at National Western Stock Show

CSU Day, Saturday, Jan. 16, at the National Western Stock Show in Denver will be filled with rodeo, giveaways, and plenty of green and gold. The National Western Stock Show is Jan. 9-24 at the National Western Complex, 4655 Humboldt St., Denver. CSU Day includes giveaways, discounted rodeo tickets, pictures with Cam the Ram, and appearances by CSU System Chancellor Joe Blake and CSU President Tony Frank.

Your $14 or $15 rodeo ticket includes entry to the Stock Show grounds, the 11 a.m. Pro Rodeo, mutton bustin’ competitions, entertainment and more.
