The
College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences thanks Dr. Gen Kato,
Founder and President of the Japan Human Animal Bond Society, for his gift
to the Animal Cancer Center at Colorado State University. Dr. Kato, a
long-time supporter of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical
Sciences and its veterinary programs, is a veterinary
practitioner In Tokyo, Japan. Above, from left to right are: Dr. Anthony
Frank, President of Colorado State University; Dr. Stephen Withrow, Director
of the Animal Cancer Center; Dr. Gen Kato; and Dr. Lance Perryman, Dean of
the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Withrow and
his team at the Animal Cancer Center direct one of the largest animal cancer
research facilities in the world. Dr. Kato’s gift to Kari’s Fund will help
support the annual costs of core operational, educational, and research
initiatives and will help to sustain the Animal Cancer Center’s operations.
