The Colorado State University Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior is currently taking orders for its 2010 calendars. The calendars include the 12 winning photos from the club’s “Hamsters to Horses” photo contest. Each month also includes an animal behavior tip.
Money raised from the sale of the calendars will be used to help fund a one-day animal behavior seminar in the spring. The seminar will be open to veterinary students, local veterinarians and staff members, and animal lovers in the community.
The Behavior Club’s mission is to provide veterinary students with educational opportunities through lectures and hands-on experiences regarding animal behavior. The club provides behavior and training information for a variety of species including dogs, cats, horses, small ruminants, wildlife, pet birds, and small mammals. The club also provides the community with opportunities to learn about the behavior of their pets through community speaking engagements, information on the club website, and through the sale of training supplies and books.
To see the winning photos and order a calendar, go to www.cvmbs.colostate.edu/vetbehaviorclub. Calendars are $12 each, and payment must be received by Friday, Nov. 20. Delivery will be in early December. For questions about the Behavior Club or the calendars, e-mail club president Cheryl Kolus at ckolus@rams.colostate.edu.
