The James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital will host its 28th Annual Open House on Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The open house will include guided hospital tours for an up-close look at veterinary medicine, mock surgery, a petting zoo, lectures, demonstrations, student organization exhibits, and much more.
On Friday, lectures include Advances in Equine Medicine; Wild Things – Exotic Animal Medicine; So You Want to be a Veterinarian; and a panel discussion about veterinary school. On Saturday, presentations include Banishing Animal Pain, Past, Present, and Future; Acupuncture for Animals; A Look at Animal Training – A New Approach; and What is Pet Hospice. Demonstrations during the open house include dog agility by “Get Over It” Agility Club Flyball; a saddle fitting demonstration; animal trick training, and bird behavior.
