In May, a complete listing of CVMBS construction projects in E-Insight provided an overview of what faculty, staff and students can expect in the coming year. Each month, E-Insight will be providing an update on current projects with photos when available.
June will bring the demolition of the dairy barn floor at the Veterinary Medical Complex. While the floor was initially going to be pulverized and reprocessed to provide fill for the Diagnostic Medicine Center, engineers found the concrete had too much support material in it (steel) and that the recycling process was not possible. The concrete floor will now be cut, loaded and moved off campus for further processing.
June also will see construction begin on the expansion of the Dean’s Office. Contractors will first tackle exterior work with the expansion, and then the inside of the existing office space will be remodeled. During the interior remodeling, faculty and staff will move to temporary offices in the Anatomy/Zoology Building (primarily student services will stay on the Main Campus) and to a temporary modular office building on the South Campus.
