Dr. Lora Ballweber
Dr. Lora Ballweber joined the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology in August as an Associate Professor of Clinical Parasitology. She is based in the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory where her professional responsibilities include diagnostic parasitology and teaching. She comes to Colorado State University from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University.
Dr. Ballweber, who was born and raised in Cody, Wyoming, has been married to her husband Jeff for 14 years. They have a dog, Lucky, and a cat, Punkin. Dr. Ballweber’s hobbies include bow hunting and photography.
Dr. Andrey Ptitsyn
Dr. Ptitsyn comes to the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology from the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Ptitsyn, an Assistant Professor in MIP, is establishing the Center for Computational Biology at the College, and collaborating on inter-disciplinary research.
The College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences welcomes Drs. Ballweber and Ptitsyn to Colorado State University and the greater Fort Collins community and wishes them the best of luck in all their endeavors.
