James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital Hosts Annual Open House
The James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital Open House will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 7 and 8, 2006, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Rocky Mountain Raptor Program will be open for tours on Saturday, April 8, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The Open House includes lectures, demonstrations, tours through the hospital and more than15 displays put together by the Professional Veterinary Medical students. The Open House is a yearly event coordinated and run by the Professional Veterinary Medical students.
Hospital tours run both days of the Open House and usually last 30 to 45 minutes with the last tours given at 3:15 p.m. Large group tours are welcome on Friday. Please make group reservations by calling (970) 491-7053.
This year's lectures and demonstrations include:
Friday
10 a.m -- "The Colicky Horse:A Look Inside," Dr. Diana Hassel.
Noon -- "Colorado Raptors-Majesty of the Rockies, "Carin Avila, Education Coordinatoer, Rocky Mountain Raptor Program.
11 a.m. -- Canine Agility Demo.
1 p.m. -- Introduction to Birds.
2 p.m. -- "So, You Wanna Be A Veterinarian?" Dr. Sherry Stewart, Assistant Dean of Admissions and Student Affairs.
Saturday
10 a.m. -- "Colorado Raptors-Majesty of the Rockies," Carin Avila, Education Coordinator, Rocky Mountain Raptor Program.
11 a.m. -- Flyball Demo.
Noon -- "Acupucture for Animal: Sorting Myth from Reality," Dr. Narda G. Robinson and Dr. Tim Holt.
1 p.m. --
Pet Bird Behavior and Training.
2 p.m. -- "Stopping Those Annoying Pet Behaviors Before They Start!" Dr. Rebecca Ruch-Galli. |
