Annual Stallion Auction Benefits Equine Research

TravelenaColorado State University will hold its annual stallion auction to benefit equine research from Tuesday, Jan. 10, to Tuesday, Jan. 17. Proceeds from the auction will go to fund equine research programs at the university.

Colorado State's equine research is recognized internationally, including its Orthopaedic Research Center, which focuses on finding new treatments for joint disease and injuries, as well as technology that can help to prevent these injuries. The Equine Reproduction Laboratory is recognized around the world for its reproductive research.

The stud services of approximately 90 stallions, primarily cutting, some reining and racing quarter horses, will be offered at the auction. Interested horse owners can visit the Web at http://www.csuequineortho.com to see photos of the horses, minimum bids and read other details on each stallion.

When the auction goes live at 11 a.m. on Jan. 10, "Bid Now" links will appear next to each stallion's listing. Follow these links to place a bid.

Actual bidding will be held on eBay, and all bidders bidding through the Colorado State equine site must also be registered on eBay to place a bid. To register, visit http://www.eBay.com and click on the register link on top of the page.

Bids do not include chute fees, booking fees or associated reproductive and veterinary costs. Winning bid amounts in excess of published stud fees are tax deductible.
