Rocky Mountain Raptor Program Gala Gets Ready to Fly

golden eagleThe 2006 Rocky Mountain Raptor Program (RMRP) Gala Dinner and Benefit Auction, one of the program's major fundraisers, is scheduled for Feb. 25, 5-9 p.m., at the Lincoln Center in Fort Collins. The evening includes dinner, dessert, live entertainment (the Ron Cottinham Duo and Colleen Crosson) and an auction.

The proceeds of the event benefit the rehabilitation of injured eagles, hawks, falcons and owls, as well as support public environmental education. Each year, with the assistance of volunteers, the RMPR provides medical care for about 200 orphaned or injured raptors annually with the goal of release back to the wild.

Tickets for the event, if purchased before Feb. 23, are $20 ($25 at the door), and a table for 10 can be reserved for $300. The RMRP is still seeking donated goods and services for the evening's auction. To contribute an item to the auction, or to purchase tickets, call the RMRP at 970-297-0398. Special thanks to the event's sponsors including The Rainbow Restaurant, Wild Oats Market, and Turquoise Mesa Winery.
