Rocky Mountain Raptor Program to Host Open House
Colorado State University's Rocky Mountain Raptor Program will host an open house Sunday, May 8, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The Rocky Mountain Raptor Program is located north of Colorado State University's James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital, 300 W. Drake Road.
Visitors can tour the center, learn more about how the raptor program rehabilitates injured birds of prey and learn about opportunities to volunteer. Visitors can meet permanently injured birds who are not released into the wild and some of which are available for adoption through the Adopt-a-Raptor Program. Many birds of prey will be on display.
During the open house, volunteers will be available to discuss the volunteer program, construction projects, environmental education presentations and public outreach exhibits.
Raptor gift items will be available through the program's Raptor Gift Shop including jewelry, stuffed animals, mugs, coloring books and educational materials. Refreshments will be served.
