Phi Zeta Sponsors Sixth Annual Research DayThe Society of Phi Zeta (the Honor Society of Veterinary Medicine) will host its annual CVMBS Research Day on Saturday, Jan. 29, at the Lory Student Center. Sessions will take place in the Cherokee Park Room and North Ballroom throughout the day, with posters exhibited in and a luncheon with keynote speaker scheduled for the North Ballroom. Dr. Margaret Wild, a wildlife veterinarian for the National Park Service Biological Resource Management Division in Fort Collins, is the keynote speaker for the event and will present a lecture on “Wildlife Disease Management in National Parks: Why Don’t Parks Do Something?” Dr. Wild will describe how wildlife biologists, veterinarians and the National Park Service develop and implement wildlife population management strategies, with emphasis on disease management within national parks. The Theta Chapter of the Society of Phi Zeta recognizes and promotes research and scholarship at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in the areas of animal welfare and disease.
