CVMBS Hosts 2006 Research Symposium

The College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) is consistently ranked first nationally in extramural research funding among colleges of veterinary medicine. As a way of showcasing the excellence in student research that contributes to this success, CVMBS has developed an annual symposium. All members of the CVMBS community are encouraged to participate in this free event.

The CVMBS 2006 Research Symposium will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Hilton Hotel in Fort Collins. The Hilton is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Centre Drive and Prospect Road.

The symposium will begin at 1 p.m., with poster and oral presentations in basic and clinical sciences by graduate students, veterinary students, veterinary residents and interns. A keynote speaker will be featured at 5 p.m., followed by a reception and awards ceremony. In addition to highlighting cutting edge research and innovative research approaches, the symposium provides a forum for local researchers and scientists to meet, helping to enhance collaboration and communication between basic and clinical researchers.

An interdepartmental competition is being organized and will recognize the department with the greatest participation in the 2006 symposium. Students and faculty from all departments are encouraged to participate in and attend this event to hear about the exciting research taking place at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
