Departmental Seminar Calendar

Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology

The Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology sponsors a series of weekly faculty seminars. The seminars are held on Mondays, 4:10-5:10 p.m., in Room 103 of the Pathology Building. Coordinator for the series is Dr. Leonard Pearson. Committee members include Drs. James DeMartini and Dean Crick. Nov. 8 – Dr. Ross Kedl, Post-Doctoral Fellow with Dr. Philippa Marrack, National Jewish Medical and Research Center. Title to be announced.

Nov. 15 – Dr. George Barisas, Professor, Analytical and Biological Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, Colorado State University. Dr. Barisas’ discussion is titled, “Toxicity of Chemicals to Cultured Mammalian Cells Evaluated by Flow Microcalorimetry.”

Nov. 29 – Dr. Frederick Quinn, Professor and Head, Department of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology, University of Georgia. Title to be announced.

Dec. 6 – Dr. J. Santiago Mejia, Post-Doctoral Fellow with Dr. Richard Titus, MIP, Colorado State University. Dr. Mejia’s discussion is titled, “In Pursuit of a Pan-Arthropod Vaccine.”

Nov. 9 – Dr. Peter Hansen, Department of Animal Science, University of Florida. Dr. Hansen’s discussion, to be presented at 11 a.m. in Room 123 MRB, is titled, “Ontogeny of Thermotolerance in Bovine Preimplantation Embryos – Mechanisms and Practical Significance.”

Nov. 11 – Dr. Jim Bamburg, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Colorado State University. Place, time and topic to be announced.

Nov. 15 – Dr. Thomas Hansen, Department of Animal Sciences, University of Wyoming. Dr. Hansen’s discussion, to be presented at 11 a.m. in Room B120 Microbiology, is entitled, “Early Pregnancy and Fetal Development in Mammals.”

Nov. 18 – Dr. Fuller Bazer, Associate Dean for Agriculture, Texas A&M University. Dr. Bazer’s discussion, to be presented at 4:30 p.m. in Room W104 ARBL, Foothills Campus, is titled, “Role of Interferon-Tau in the Establishment and Maintenance of Pregnancy.”

Nov. 18 – Dr. Robert Bridges, Department of Biomedical Sciences, Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. Title to be announced, 11 a.m. in Room 103 Pathology.

Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences -- Animal Cancer Center Seminars
