  • Dr. Neal Gallagher, Dean of the College of Engineering, recently announced plans to leave Colorado State University. Dr. Gallagher will be taking on a new position as Dean of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Central Florida. Plans for Dr. Gallagher's departure have not been finalized, but the University administration is moving ahead quickly to appoint an interim dean for the College. A search for a new dean will commence shortly.

  • Dr. Sandra Woods, head of the Department of Civil Engineering, and Dr. Tom Gorell, Director of the Center for Life Sciences, have agreed to serve as interim vice provosts to cover responsibilities in the vice provost position left vacant after the death of Dr. Alan Tucker. Dr. Woods will have a 40 percent appointment as interim vice provost for Special Projects. Dr. Gorell will have a 60 percent appointment as interim vice provost for Faculty Affairs. Together, they bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Provost's Office and will provide much needed support in many areas.

  • Madeleine Albright will speak at Colorado State University, Wednesday, March 31, 8 p.m., in Moby Arena as part of Bridges to the Future. Bridges to the Future is a statewide project co-sponsored by Colorado State and the University of Denver to encourage exploration and greater understanding of American history and values. This year's Bridges to the Future theme is " Nation Building - Global and Local Challenges." Albright's speech will be followed by a book signing and is free and open to the public.
