ERHS Welcomes Dr. Alfred F. Fuciarelli

Dr. Alfred F. Fuciarelli has joined the faculty of the Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences as an Associate Department Head and an Associate Professor. Dr. Fuciarelli, who began work at Colorado State on March 1, will be involved in research, instruction and administration in the department.

Dr. Fuciarelli joins the College from Battelle Toxicology Northwest in Richland, Wash., where he was a research leader. He had been at Battelle since 1991. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, in Boston. Dr. Fuciarelli also worked as a guest scientist for the Center for Chemical Physics, National Institute of Standards and Technology, in Gaithersburg, Md ; and as a visiting scientist with the Radiation Biochemistry Department, Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute, in Bethesda, Md.

Dr. Fuciarelli received his Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Toronto, Canada; and his Master of Science in experimental radiology and Doctor of Philosophy in medical sciences from the University of Alberta, Canada. He is a member of the Radiation Research Society, American Chemical Society, Society of Toxicology, and the American Association for Pharmaceutical Sciences.

We welcome Dr. Fuciarelli to the Colorado State University community and to the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
