Department of Clinical Sciences Welcomes Dr. Egger

Dr. Erick Egger has joined the Department of Clinical Sciences as an Associate Professor in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Egger, who has been affiliated with the College in previous years, took his new position in May.

Dr. Egger began his professional career at Iowa State University as an Assistant Professor of Veterinary Clinical Science. He left there in 1982 to join the faculty at Colorado State, leaving his Associate Professor position here in 1997. From 1997 until present, Dr. Egger continued as an Affiliate Professor to the Department of Clinical Sciences and the Department of Mechanical Engineering. During this time, he also worked with Surgical Referral Services in Loveland and began his own company, Veterinary Orthopedic Consulting.

Dr. Egger is a 1973 (BS) and 1975 (DVM) graduate of Colorado State University. He completed a small animal internship at Purdue University and a small animal surgical residency at the University of Missouri. In 1990 he took a sabbatical to work at the Orthopedic Biomechanics Laboratory at the Mayo Clinic. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and belongs to numerous professional organizations including the AVMA, CVMA, AAHA and Orthopedic Research Society. He has received numerous honors and awards, and been published in numerous journals, as well as published many book chapters.
