Veterinary Students Host Golf Tournament to Raise Funds

Colorado State University veterinary students are hosting a golf tournament to raise money for the Larimer County Humane Society and to pay for class expenses such as graduation festivities for the Class of 2006.

The Colorado Animal Scramble, a four-person scramble, will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start at the Highland Meadows Golf Course in Windsor on Saturday, Aug. 1. Prizes will be given, including hole-in-one prizes of a new Harley Davidson motorcycle or a Ford F-150, and longest drive prizes. The winning team takes away $800.

The 18-hole tournament includes use of a new cart with a GPS system, range balls, a 15-minute clinic with a golf pro, breakfast, and a barbecue lunch. Raffle tickets are available now for a raffle that will be held at the award ceremony during lunch.  Raffle ticket prizes include two round-trip Frontier Airline tickets, tickets to Denver Performing Arts Complex events, a Colorado diamond pennant, a pair of diamond stud earrings, an aerial tour of Colorado and lunch for two, and a Coopersmith's gift certificate.

Registration for the tournament is $115 per individual or $400 for a four-person team. E-mail Craig Hill at craig.hill@colostate.edu or call (970) 493-5569 for more information, to register, or to purchase raffle tickets. Raffle tickets also are available during July from any PVM student in the Class of 2006.
