Macromolecular Resources Upgrades Offerings

Macromolecular Resources has resolved for the New Year that each life science researcher should be made fully aware of what this core laboratory can do to facilitate research. New people, new equipment, new prices, new services and the same old mission work to enhance the capabilities of the research community. Check out their Web site at http://macromolecular.colostate.edu, and pay particular attention to the special pricing and other offerings on the CSU services page.

MR offers custom oligonucleotides, both oxy and deoxy, with many modifications. Upgrading to today's technology has allowed the lab to build more oligos, build them faster and build them for today's competitive prices. Desalted, 40 nM synthesis is what many scientists need for PCR primers.

MR crafts custom peptides for which they can demonstrate the highest level of quality. Their aged slab-gel DNA sequencing dinosaur has been replaced by state-of-the-art capillary electrophoresis equipment. Researchers can drop off DNA in the morning, read sequences the next day, and inquire about the fragment analysis or microsattelite characterization MR now offers. Prices for CSU users have been dramatically reduced and larger projects can be done on even more favorable terms. N-terminal protein sequencing remains one of the most powerful tools in the protein chemist's arsenal.

Mass spectrometry has long been one of MR's strong points and represents the next growth phase as they evolve into a top flight proteomics facility. The equipment acquisition is imminent and the potential is unlimited. For the greater part of their recent growth and improvement, including the favorable price structure for on-campus users, Macromolecular Resources thanks the vice presidents, deans and department heads of this University. CSU is demonstrating an unprecedented commitment to support of its research environment, and MR is proud to be a part of this very significant progress.
