New Faculty

ERHS Welcomes Dr. Lisa Zekas

Dr. Lisa J. Zekas has joined the faculty of the Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Zekas, who began work at Colorado State on January 1, will be involved in instruction and clinical service at the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital, research, and professional services and outreach.

Dr. Zekas graduated from California State University at Sacramento and taught high school science before returning to school to study veterinary medicine. She graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of California at Davis in 1994. She was a resident in equine practice at the University of Florida, School of Veterinary Medicine, for two years before joining the Mount Vernon Veterinary Hospital in 1999. She then completed a residency in radiology at the University of Wisconsin, School of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Surgical Sciences, where she then took a position as a clinical instructor before coming the Colorado State.

Dr. Zekas is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners, American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, and American College of Veterinary Radiology. We welcome her to the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and to the Colorado State University community..
