Toxicology Educational Objectives

  • Obtain a broad, fundamental knowledge of the field of Toxicology.
  • Develop professional communication skills and expertise, including public speaking.
  • Develop technical skills and practical experience in solving Toxicological problems.
  • Demonstrate responsible behavior according to professional codes of ethics.

M.S. Plan A programs have a minimum of 30 semester credits with a thesis.
M.S. Plan B (non-thesis) programs have a minimum of 36 semester credits with a comprehensive examination.

The doctoral degree (PhD) requires a minimum of 72 semester credits. A maximum of 30 semester credits of the 72 required may be awarded by the graduate advisory committee (at the sole discretion of the advisory committee) for a completed masters degree.

Department Admission Requirements

1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
2. An overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher
3. GRE scores in the general examination (verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing) or MCAT scores, within 5 years
4. Three letters of recommendation
5. Statement of academic interest and career plans
6. TOEFL scores (minimum 213-Computer; 550-Paper) & proof of support (international students only)
