The Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging section offers a diagnostic imaging reading service for Referring Veterinarians. Veterinarians can submit imaging exams, (films, digitally on CD, via email, via DICOM Send or Internet File Sharing Service-IFSS) and CT/MRI/US studies (prefer DICOM Send or IFSS) to be read by our board-certified radiologists.

Please Note: This is a service specifially for veterinarians. Costs associated with this Referral Service are not related to other Radiology or Diagnostic Imaging services. Please contact the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at 970-297-5000 for all other Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging services or needs.

Submitting Images:

2. PRINT, Complete and FAX a Diagnostic Imaging Interpretation Form (pdf) to 970-297-4262
   
   
3. Submit images one of the following ways:
   
   
   • DICOM Images: Best quality and method with 24-hour report turnaround time.
     • Images in DICOM format can be forwarded directly to our server with a push of a button on your host. We do not need your DICOM IP address to receive images, so your computer remains secure and other parties cannot access your images. We will provide details of our server address and assist in configuring your computer.    • Non DICOM Images: 24-hour turnaround time.
     • Submit Images in JPEG, TIFF, or Bitmap format:
       • Eight (8) or more images: You can create an account at DROPBOX.COM* and share your images for only CSU to access. Share your folders under the SHARING tab in Dropbox to this email address: dimaging@colostate.edu .
       • Seven (7) or less images: You may send directly via email to: dimaging@colostate.edu or share images using DROPBOX.COM*

     *Dropbox is an easy to use, free file storage, "cloud storage", service that lets you easily share photos, documents, and videos. Go to DROPBOX.COM to learn more with their tutorial or to set up an account.
     
     

• Film Images: Turnaround time is dependent on delivery service to the Radiology office.
  
  • All films to be read should be submitted to one of the following addresses via United States Postal Service (USPS), United Parcel Service (UPS) or Federal Express (Fed Ex): Please include a Diagnostic Imaging Interpretation form (pdf) with your package(s)
