The faculty and students in the area of Radiological Health Sciences focus on education and research relating to the use of radiation for the benefit of mankind.

This includes using radiation as a tool for research in cellular and molecular biology, as well as for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Areas of study available in the graduate Radiological Health Sciences degree are:

There are also research programs devoted to understanding, predicting and reducing any risks to persons and the environment that may be associated with radiation in medicine, industry and human exploration in space.

All of the programs for advanced degrees that involve research require a dissertation (Ph.D.) or a thesis (M.S.).

The program in Health Physics also provides for a M.S. degree that requires course work plus a practicum and professional paper (M.S., Plan B.)

Colorado State is a comprehensive university with a multitude of courses and interdisciplinary graduate programs such as Cell and Molecular Biology, and Ecology which enable students to enhance their graduate education. The Radiological Health Sciences graduate program is of such scope and flexibility that students can prepare for a wide variety of academic, governmental, or industrial careers.
