EDUCATION
The Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences offers an accredited
undergraduate degree (B.S.) in Environmental Health and graduate degrees (M.S. and Ph.D.) in
Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences.
Areas of study available are:
The M.S. and Ph.D. degrees are available with specializations in Epidemiology, Health Physics,
Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology.
A
Residency program in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging is also
offered through the department.
Studies in this combination of disciplines makes the Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences Department
unique in the United States. The department's courses provide learning opportunities for students
from a wide range of disciplines related to the health and environmental sciences.
RESEARCH
The educational and research programs of the department are intimately linked. The department has active
and well-funded research programs in Cancer Biology, Ergonomics and Epidemiology,
Health Physics, Toxicology, Radiological Health, Occupational and Environmental Health, Veterinary Diagnostic
Imaging.
SERVICE
The Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences is home to the Occupational Health
and Safety Consultation group funded by OSHA to serve small businesses in Colorado.
Department faculty are responsible for providing radiology services at CSU's Veterinary Medical
Center and radiation therapy offered by the Animal Cancer Center.
Outreach and service efforts are a
key part of the mission of the High Plains Intermountain Center for Agricultural Health & Safety (HICAHS)
and the Mountains and Plains Education Research Center (MAP ERC).
