James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital Open House
The 29th Annual James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital Open House is a yearly event which is coordinated and run by the Professional Veterinary Medical Students. The next Open House will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 4-5, 2008 from 8am until 5pm. The theme this year is ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL, MEDICINE FOR ONE AND ALL. The James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital is located in the Veterinary Medical Center at 300 West Drake Road, Fort Collins, Colorado. Open House is Free and Open to the Public!
The Fast and The Furriest
The Fast and The Furriest is a 5K/1K run-walk fundraiser to benefit the Companion Care Fund. The event will be held behind the CSU James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital at 300 W. Drake, Fort Collins, CO. on Saturday, April 19, 2008. Enjoy food, drink, great award and raffle prizes, jumping castle, free goodies and chair massages! Students $22, Adults $25 pre-race day/$30 race day and Kids (7-12) $10. Heart to Heart Pet-a-Rama
The Heart to Heart Pet-a-Rama is an annual 2-mile fun walk each Spring at Phoenix's Steele Park, Phoenix, AZ to help raise money for research and treatment of animal heart disease. The next walk was held on on February 17, 2008. Proceeds from this event benefit the Animal Heart Center at CSU James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
The Animal Heart Center improves the lives of animals with heart disease by advancing diagnostic, surgical and treatment techniques and training veterinary healthcare professionals. The Animal Heart Center Open Heart Surgery Program is the only ongoing program in North America capable of performing clinical open heart surgery in animals. The surgical team has pioneered several cardiac surgeries in dogs including repair of congenital heart defects, mitral valve repair and heart valve replacement surgery. How You Can Help
CSU Veterinary Career Fair 2008
The new CSU Veterinary Career Fair was held on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the Fort Collins Hilton Hotel from 4-7pm followed by a reception for the CVMA mentorship program participants from 7-8:30pm. There is booths of employers promoting summer experiences and full time job openings. There is also breakout sessions on various veterinary career options. Employers had an opportunity to interview seniors the following day, February 1, 2008 from 8am to 6pm. This event is open to all PVM students, CSU veterinary residents and interns and CSU veterinary alumni. Detailed information and registration form.
Diagnostic Medicine Center Groundbreaking
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new multi-million dollar Diagnostic Medicine Center was held on Friday, December 7, 2007 at the Veterinary Medical Center just north of the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
