Policy on Advanced Standing for Professional Veterinary Medical Students

***Due to low attrition rates and thus lack of open positions, as of November 2, 2006, Colorado State University's Professional Veterinary Medical Program will no longer accept transfer student applications.

Requirements for Admission with Advanced Standing

Residency Classification with Advanced Standing

Applications for admission with advanced standing will be considered only from students currently enrolled in a school of veterinary medicine accredited by the A.V.M.A.  

Transfer of credit from a school of veterinary medicine that is not accredited by the A.V.M.A. Council on Education is not allowed. Students attending such institutions must apply for admission to the first-year class through the regular admissions process.

This college does not participate in the A.V.M.A.'s Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduate Certification.

Transfer of credit from other health profession programs of study is not allowed. Students attending such institutions must apply for admission to the first-year class through the regular admissions process.
