Financial Aid

Information and guidance regarding financial aid for veterinary students are available from the Colorado State Office of Student Financial Services, Room 103, Administration Annex (telephone 970/491-6321). National Direct Student Loans, Health Professions Loans, and Stafford Loans are available to residents and nonresidents. Graduate Grants are available only to Colorado residents. Some veterinary students participate in a work-study program. All of these programs are managed by the Colorado State Office of Financial Aid, which publishes a booklet, Financing an Education, describing available financial aid. Scholarships

The College is pleased to be able to offer over $1,000,000 in scholarships each year.  Most of these scholarships are for continuing veterinary medical students. Awards are presented at special programs (usually held in April).

Vet Start Program

The College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University enrolls 5 high school graduates in Vet Start, a program that provides guidance through a four-year undergraduate preveterinary curriculum at Colorado State. Students who successfully complete the program will be guaranteed admission to the professional veterinary medical program. Undergraduate and professional program tuition scholarships are awarded to all selected candidates. Students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds are given special consideration.
